In any case, here is how to do it, very easily. I will still work on getting Updated MAME 2000 working, so that you can use the Updated Mapping method!Īnd, in next Core Update, will address your PicoDrive I was incredibly busy with other projects, work, and such, that this got sidetracked, I apologize:) In any case, I was able to quite easily remap MAME 2000, using the SNES Controller, as well as any other controller that I connected to it (clovercon helps with the generic ones!). Just proceed with caution, as.even, me, in my personal tests, have accidentally broken the RetroArch in my first attempt:) But, I worked out super easy ways to fix it, as displayed above! (uninstall RetroArch/reinstall RetroArch Replace RetroArch Config with Back-Up via FTP Worst case scenario-Uninstall Hakchi2. You have likely been attempting them from Controls, which is not a good place to do it, in this case. Main thing is, this should remedy your Control Issues. It greatly helps to know what keys are already binded, being that you are using a standard controller! You can test this on the fly! So, it may take just a little bit of trial and error. You can ignore keys that do not need to be mapped. But, it has worked for me:)Īnyways, RetroArch Settings, Input, User 1 KeyBinds, Bind All, etc. It just isn't exactly user-friendly, due to the ease of breaking RetroArch Control Config. I am gonna do a video about this, sometime in next couple days:) I have used this workaround with other Cores. I would also advise using FTP to back-up your RetroArch Config Files, as I ALWAYS do before I mess with anything:) If you need help doing that, let me know! But, you can easily drag and replace the back-up as you play with the adjustments, per below:) This will negate your need to uninstall Hakchi2, if you really goof it up. You can generally uninstall/reinstall RetroArch to fix this (There are some cases where a complete hakchi2 uninstall is necessary, if you really screw things up. Once done, scroll up and select Save Core Remap FileĪt this point the game is running. One workaround you may be able to use, for input binding, is this. But, beware, if you do it incorrectly, you can break your ability to open up RetroArch options. It'll look different than my pict (was on a remote computer) You'll be at RA's Quick Menu (starting at "Resume") You may be asked to select a core (again) (mine are in zip files, so I need to select Load Archive) Go to the directory that has your games and select one Just sayin'.) Since nothing appears to be working correctly with RA, there's no loss in completely trashing your RA installation and installing fresh.įrom Windows, start RetroArch. (LB/BB has Nothing to do with the issues you're having. If it's not, I think your best bet is to simply start fresh with RA. You don't by chance have RA installed in your Program Files directory? That could be the underlying issue.directory/file write administrator permissions and all that shtuff. Any and all emulator configuration (especially in-game controls) needs to be done, and confirmed working outside of LB/BB. If through RA, you Load Core/Content, F1, Controls and Save Core Remap File, you don't need to do anything when you load a game in BigBox except play. It'd sure help me out having someone else with a similar system. So how many retroarch emulators are you using bigbox for? You have an iPac and your able to assign your buttons on a per core basis? I'm at a loss getting this to work, any chance you can give it a try again and give a little more detailed how to? I've done what you suggested but it's not worked, there must be something I'm missing. the answer was right there the whole time. About 6 months later I convinced myself it can't be that hard. My upright cab has the I-PAC/2 and when I 1st tried RA, I actually completely gave up. Though probably not necessary, without making any other changes, load RA, do the config/save, exit RA, restart and test that core/platform. Select Quick Menu (which doesn't show if you don't have a core loaded) then Overrides (very bottom). Setup the buttons/controls (and for User2Blinds if you wish). Go (right) to Settings, Input, User1Blinds. Load the core for the platform you want to configure.
